This privacy policy informs you as a user of www.lipomedical.ch about what personal data we collect and how we process and protect it. We attach great importance to the protection of your data and comply with the applicable data protection laws in Switzerland (in particular the Federal Act on Data Protection, FADP).

If you have any questions about data protection, you can contact us at any time (see contact details above).
Access data: When you visit our website, our web server automatically stores technical access data in so-called server log files. This data includes, for example, the IP address of your device, the date and time of access, the pages viewed, the browser type and version used and the operating system. This information is technically necessary in order to deliver the content of the site correctly and is evaluated by us exclusively to ensure smooth operation and to improve our offer. This data is not merged with other data sources. This access data does not allow any direct conclusions to be drawn about your person and is usually deleted automatically after a short time.
Personal data when contacting us: If you contact us via the contact form on the website or by e‑mail, the personal information you provide will be collected. As a rule, this is: Name, e‑mail address, telephone number, clinic/practice name (if provided) and the content of your message. This information is used exclusively for the purpose of processing your inquiry, communicating with you and, if necessary, initiating a contract (ordering our products). We store and use this data in order to fulfill your request (e.g. answering a product inquiry or preparing an offer). This data will not be passed on to third parties without your consent (see point 4).
No further data without your action: In addition, we only collect personal data on our website if you actively provide it to us (e.g. by filling out the contact form). There is no automated profiling and we do not use tracking or marketing cookies that create personal user profiles. If analysis tools (such as a web analysis service) are used in the future, we will update the privacy policy accordingly and — if legally required — obtain your consent in advance.
Our website uses cookies only to the extent that is technically necessary. Cookies are small text files that your browser automatically stores. For example, we use session cookies to facilitate the use of the website (e.g. to save form entries during a session). These cookies are usually essential and are automatically deleted at the end of your visit. We do not use cookies for marketing or analysis purposes that track your use across multiple websites. You still have the option of completely deactivating cookies in your browser; please note, however, that certain functions of the website may then be restricted (e.g. sending the contact form).
We treat your personal data confidentially. Your personal data will not be passed on to third parties, except in the following cases:
Processors: We occasionally use external service providers who process data on our behalf (e.g. our website hosting provider or e‑mail service). Contracts for commissioned data processing are in place with these service providers to ensure that your data is processed and protected in accordance with the applicable data protection regulations.
Legal obligation: If we are legally obliged to do so, we will pass on data to authorities entitled to receive information (e.g. law enforcement authorities). However, this only takes place within the framework of legal requirements.
Business purpose: In the context of order processing, it may be necessary to pass on your data to third parties, e.g. to shipping service providers (for the delivery of the goods) or to payment service providers/accounting (for the processing of payment, if relevant). In such cases, the transfer is limited to the minimum necessary and takes place in accordance with the applicable data protection regulations. (Note: As orders are primarily placed via contact and individual agreement, this point is currently of a more theoretical nature).
Your data will not be transferred abroad (outside Switzerland or the EU/EEA). Our servers are located in Switzerland (or in the EU with our hosting provider, which guarantees an appropriate level of data protection). If, in exceptional cases, we process (or have processed) personal data outside Switzerland/EU, we will ensure that the necessary data protection guarantees (e.g. EU adequacy decision for the country in question or standard contractual clauses) are in place.
We use appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect your data stored by us from manipulation, loss, unauthorized access or unauthorized disclosure. For example, our website uses encryption (SSL/TLS) for the transmission of confidential content (such as contact form data), recognizable by “https://” in the address bar of your browser. Internally, your data is stored in such a way that it is only accessible for the purpose of processing your inquiry. We regularly adapt our security measures to technological developments.
We only store personal data for as long as is necessary:
We will delete or anonymize the data transmitted in contact requests as soon as your request has been fully processed and there are no statutory retention obligations to the contrary. If your inquiry results in a contractual relationship (e.g. an order for our products), we will transfer your data to our customer management system and store it in accordance with the applicable requirements (generally for the duration of the business relationship and beyond in accordance with statutory retention periods).
Log file data (access data) is stored temporarily for security reasons and is usually deleted automatically after a few weeks (unless a security incident requires longer storage).
If you have consented to data processing (e.g. consent to a newsletter, if we were to offer one), you can revoke this consent at any time with effect for the future. After revocation, the data concerned will be deleted unless a legal basis permits or prescribes further processing. (Note: We do not currently send out a newsletter, so no such use of data takes place).
As a data subject, you have various rights with regard to your personal data under Swiss data protection law (and — where applicable — the EU GDPR):
Right to information: You can request information about what data we have stored about you and how we process it.
Right to rectification: If we process incorrect or incomplete personal data about you, you have the right to request the rectification or completion of this data.
Right to erasure (“right to be forgotten”): You are entitled to request the erasure of your personal data, provided that the storage is not (or no longer) necessary and there are no statutory retention obligations to the contrary. For example, you can request the deletion of your contact data if the request has been completed and there is no contractual relationship.
Right to restriction of processing: In certain cases (e.g. if the accuracy of the data is disputed or you have objected to the processing), you can request the restriction of the processing of your data.
Right to object: You have the right to object to the processing of your personal data if we process your data on the basis of a legitimate interest. In such a case, we will no longer process your data unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds for doing so.
Right to data portability: Where applicable (in particular where EU law would apply), you have the right to receive the data you have provided in a commonly used, machine-readable format or — where possible — to request that it be transmitted to another controller.
To exercise these rights, you can contact us at any time using the contact details provided in the legal notice or at the beginning of this privacy policy. Please note that we may require proof that you are actually the person concerned (e.g. proof of identity) to process such a request in order to protect your data from unauthorized access by third parties.
If you have any questions about this privacy policy or about data protection at Lipomedical in general, you are welcome to contact us using the contact information provided (see above under Controller). We will endeavor to answer your request as quickly as possible.
If you believe that the processing of your personal data violates applicable law, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent data protection supervisory authority. In Switzerland, this is the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC). You can find the FDPIC’s contact details on its official website (https://www.edoeb.admin.ch). In the event that EU data protection law applies, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent EU supervisory authority at your place of residence.
We reserve the right to adapt the content of this privacy policy if this becomes necessary due to legal changes or the expansion of our online offering. The current privacy policy can be found on our website under the corresponding menu item. We recommend that you re-read this declaration from time to time in order to stay informed about the protection of the personal data we collect.
Status of this privacy policy: March 2025.
